What's here
- A free dictation tool that runs in your browser. Your text stays on your device.
- How-to guides for the free dictation on Mac, Windows, iPhone, Android, Chromebook, Google Docs and Word.
- Command lists for each platform, so you know what to say for punctuation and editing.
- Buying guides and comparisons for when the free options aren't enough.
How the site is funded
The tool and guides are free. Some buying guides and comparisons include affiliate links: if you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The site also promotes Moob, an app from the same company. Our affiliate disclosure and how we compare pages explain how this works and how we keep it from deciding what we recommend.
The name
Yes, we know how it's spelled. The word itself is dictation.
Who runs it
